CleanTuning® Carbon Fiber CF Shift Knobs are made with special high press vinyl laminate over the carbon fiber. This is done for several reasons. First, the carbon fiber becomes glossy but the thickness is still very thin. When installed on the car it makes the CF Shift Knob look flush to the body as if the CF knob was made from Carbon Fiber from the factory. The second reason, we do not use polyurethane because the CF products are always in the sun, dirt, rain, etc. Clear polyurethane, doesn’t matter of quality fades in these types of conditions. CleanTuning® Carbon Fiber CF shift knobs will not fade, since our products have a glossy clear laminate instead of polyurethane. All you will have to do is occasionally polish your Carbon Fiber CF shift knob.
